There's no point having a beautifully prepared magickal ritual if you're not taking practical action

In this third part about developing your preventative magick practice I wanted to talk about the continuous balance needed between magickal work and practical action when working on your goals...

We're constantly evolving beings and our desires can shift over time; sometimes slowly and sometimes more regularly. This doesn't mean you're doing something wrong, on the contrary, it indicates that you're growing and changing, and your desires are adapting to match your evolution.

When you find your desires changing, take some time to reassess your intentions, both in the magickal and practical sense. Clear your mind and reconnect with your current wants and needs. Perhaps you've reached a point where you've already accomplished some of your earlier goals, or maybe your values or circumstances have changed.

Finding your balance with practical actions and magickal work is absolutely crucial in manifesting our desires. I like to think of it like two sides of a coin - you can't have one without the other.

Practical work is the tangible, measurable actions you can take in the physical world. This could be anything from updating your resume, to networking, to taking a course to improve your skills. It involves actual, real-world actions that move you closer to your goal.

Magickal work, on the other hand, involves the intangible, the spiritual, and the energetic. It involves aligning your inner self, your desires and your intentions with the universe or higher powers. This could be through rituals, meditations, affirmations or spells.

Focusing more on one or the other is such a common pitfall, and it's great that you're recognising this in your own journey. It's so important to remember that the magickal and the practical need to coexist and complement each other. There's no point having a beautifully prepared magickal ritual, if you're not also willing to put in the effort in the material world. Whether that's pursuing a promotion, working on a relationship, or improving your physical health, the practical actions we take form the scaffolding upon which our magick can take hold and work its wonders.

If your goal is to find a new job, for example, your practical steps might include updating your resume, searching for job openings, networking, and applying for positions that align with your desired career path. Your magickal work might then involve rituals for success, confidence-boosting spells, or meditations for clarity in your career path.

If you're trying to improve your health, practical steps could be improving your diet, incorporating regular exercise into your routine, and getting enough sleep. The corresponding magickal work might be healing rituals, energy work to promote health, or using crystals or herbs associated with healing.

In relationships, practical steps might involve open communication, spending quality time with the other person, and working on any issues that arise. The magickal work could involve love spells, meditations to help improve empathy and understanding, or rituals to release past hurts and embrace forgiveness.

The key is always to ensure that your magickal and practical work align with and support each other.

If you have realised there is an imbalance between practical and magickal then recognition is always the first step to change.

Remember, it's a learning process. We all stumble and make mistakes along the way. But the most important thing is to keep going, keep learning, and keep growing.

And always remember to blend the magickal with the practical!

With love
