Embrace new beginnings with the new moon in Leo

Every new moon presents to us an opportunity to centre ourselves and plant the seeds of intention for the upcoming lunar cycle.

Working with the moon's energy is an accessible and powerful practice, particularly for those who are a bit impatient, like myself, as it has a relatively short cycle of 28 days. Positive changes can manifest quickly when we align ourselves with the moon's energy intentionally.

Each lunar cycle is composed of four phases—the new moon, the waxing moon, the full moon, and the waning moon. For the next seven days, we'll be immersed in the energy of new beginnings, as we're currently under the influence of the new moon.

To effectively work with the moon's energy, it's not enough to consider its phase alone. We must also take into account the zodiac sign the moon is in and other astrological aspects. The new moon has moved from Cancer into Leo, so the qualities of this fire sign will be amplified, and we can observe and experience these qualities in our lives.

Leo is all about energy, visibility and charisma —a powerful fire sign that sparks creativity and sets light to ideas. So, during this new moon in Leo, our focus should be on planting the seeds of new projects that will result in an increase in our fame, fortune and general power in the world.

This new moon is an opportunity for us to embrace new beginnings and set intentions that are meaningful to us. Let's take this moment to reflect on what we want to manifest during this lunar cycle. By aligning our intentions with the energy of the moon and the zodiac sign it resides in, we can unlock the magickal and transformative potential of the lunar energy.

Any time you want to create ritual and work intentionally with the moon, it's crucial to create a sacred space for yourself. A place where you can feel safe and secure to explore these emotions without judgement or shame. Light a candle, burn some incense, and dedicate time to ask yourself these questions: What are the seeds I want to plant? What are the projects or ideas I have not yet had the courage to pursue?

As you go through this process, you might be surprised by the array of emotions that surface. It's not just about potentially processing grief, sadness, or regret. You may also discover that you've been suppressing excitement, joy, and hope as well.

It's natural to guard ourselves against vulnerability, especially if we've experienced trauma in the past. However, this New Moon invites us to embrace all these emotions, whether positive or challenging, because each feeling serves a purpose in our healing and growth journey.

Once you've acknowledged and allowed these emotions to surface, it's time to release them. Again, this process may not always be easy or comfortable, but remember that the discomfort is temporary, and the rewards are profound. Allow yourself to cry, scream, or express your emotions in whatever way feels right for you. There's no right or wrong way to release what's been holding you back. Just try to allow the release in your safe space.

This lunar cycle is an invitation to delve deep within yourself and embrace the full spectrum of your emotions. By doing so, you're opening up to new beginnings and planting seeds for positive changes in your life.

So as we navigate these next seven days under the influence of the new moon let us be gentle with ourselves. Allow our emotions to flow freely and without judgement. Embrace the vulnerability, knowing that it is through this process that we find strength, healing, and transformation.

May this new moon be a time of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment.

Let us harness the energy of the moon and the gifts of Leo to create a more aligned and joyful life. Let's embrace this magical time and sow the seeds of our intentions in the fertile soil of our emotions.
