WHY AM I DOING THIS?
Rape culture is a blight upon all of our lives. Women, children, trans folks and sex workers and all people of colour are the most impacted by this toxic manifestation of white colonialism.
Magic/k has been the tool of the oppressed and disenfranchised since forever. Magic/k is the tool witches use to rebalance the scales and pull the Universe into alignment with the highest good. MAGICK WORKS.
If your automatic feeling about Hex Work is that is dangerous or karmically bad, then ask yourself, who benefits from me being disconnected from my own power?
We have been conditioned to be scared of hex work or ‘baneful magick’ by people, organisations, and communities who benefit from us staying disconnected from our intrinsic power.
Fear is a primary tool of oppression, and cultivating a fear of the self is an incredibly effective technique to maintain and replicate oppression. This fear of hex work is racist: ‘Black magic’ (any connotation of evil or badness with darkness is racist at its core); the conditioning that keeps us afraid of taking justice into our own hands leverages shame, fear, structural power and most of all, it keeps us divided and separate.
But we are not divided and separate, and in our unity we are powerful
It’s likely you’ll rub up against this when considering whether you want to get involved. But ask yourself: what is it I am being told is dangerous? Who benefits from me remaining disconnected from my own power?

When we all join in loving community to protect and defend ourselves, our siblings and our communities from the forces of evil, powerful shifts occur.
A ritual is an intentional collection of actions performed at a chosen time for a specific purpose: to shift the material reality.
A Hex is a magickal ritual whose purpose is to redirect the energies of the universe towards causing harm, suffering or diminishment to the subject. Hex work should always be justice work; concerned with rebalancing and redistributing power. Because the Universe is a closed circuit - we cannot make or destroy any energy, only transform it - magick and spell work is not concerned with anything more than consciously and intentionally deciding where the energy that already exists, goes.
In the case of Hex Work, we will be consciously calling back any and all energy that anyone has stolen from us as individuals and us as a community of survivors, through violence and rape culture. If the recalling of that energy stolen from us results in the harm, diminishment or suffering of an abuser, GOOD.
There are many different ways to do this, and the possibilities of what this can look like are infinite.

The Magickal Ritual
This magickal ritual is carefully constructed. Please attend to the bits in bold as vitally important. This is energetic hygiene. You can engage in as much or as little of this as you wish and as feels good for you, bearing in mind that if you open energy up, you need to also shut it down, so make sure to follow the basic instructions to the letter.
We’re not looking to feel comfortable here - nothing about this is comfortable -but instead to feel powerful, so if it feels powerful to you to simply light a candle and visualise your power returning to you, by all means leave it at that, but know that the more involved the ritual, the more impact it has on our own energy and the universe.

Isn’t Hex work dangerous / bad / karmically bad / evil?

The “justice systems” of this world are not concerned with justice.
The social and cultural conditioning that says that people (and especially anyone who isn't a cis white rich man) who access their own power are crazy / dangerous / irrational / to be ridiculed is deep, heavy and infectious.
It’s likely you’ll rub up against this when considering whether you want to get involved. But ask yourself: what is it I am being told is dangerous? Who benefits from me remaining disconnected from my own power?
Western White-washed notions of Karma have no influence on this discussion. Go and research the Vedic philosophical concept of Karma properly.
The wiccan Threefold-law also has no relevance here -its a made up concept that has been appropriated by white washing love and light people with no capacity for critical thought and as such is useless.
Is Hex work connected to The Devil / Satan / Evil?
The idea that revenge magick / hex work / Justice Work (the preferred technical term for this type of magickal practice) has anything to do with Christian concepts of a anthropomorphised figure of evil, is an intentionally created fiction. ‘Satan’ is a made up figure that we can trace only as far back as the 9th century, and then it was a racist caricature of the Islamic Allah.
Ask yourself: What is ‘evil’? Which organisations in the history of the world have been most aligned in support of, and literal creators of the most heinous acts of injustice ever known globally? It's not women, it's trans folks, it's not us. It’s statistically the Catholic Church closely followed by other Christian churches, religious communities and other large corporations.
